Vehicle Accident
Auto Insurance Florida - Maintain Your License Plate And Registration
Auto insurance Florida is required in order to maintain your license plate and registration, and to do this you have to have at least the minimum. States vary as to the minimum required amount and this is $10,000 PIP or personal injury protection and $10,000 PDL or property damage liability (PDL).
PIP insurance is also known as no fault insurance in Florida and means the driver is covered regardless of whether the fault for the accident lies with him/her or not. Obviously it only applies to the limits on the policy and it is always recommended that driver take out more than the minimum requirement for their own protection.
This PIP also covers the rest of the household, and any drivers of your vehicle who have your permission. This insurance will also cover members of your household if they are traveling in the school bus or someone else's vehicle or if they are a pedestrian or cyclist.
PDL insurance cover pays damages for other peoples property which you or the members of your household may be responsible for. Obviously your motor
This coverage pays for damages you or members of your family cause (and are liable for) to other people's property in a crash involving a motor vehicle. Obviously the vehicle would have to be the cause of the damage, so think in terms of another drivers vehicle, wall, gates or other property.
Insurance companies in Florida have to be correctly licensed with the Florida Department of Financial Services to issue this cover, and if a road user is found to have expired cover or no cover, the consequences are serious.
These consequences can cost a good deal more money than your insurance cover might. The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is allowed to suspend driving privileges and keep your vehicle unlicensed for up to three years, if you are found driving without insurance.
