Deaths From Tasers- Some Taser Wrongful Death Lawsuits

The use of tasers by police has become an increasingly popular form of individual and crowd control. Police and many others believe the use of a taser is less harmful of all the options when it comes to getting a situation under control.

The use of tasers has been under some heavy questioning since many deaths from tasers. Many of these deaths are a result of a person becoming belligerent and unruly, the police then decide they need to use the taser to calm things down. However, the use of the taser has been linked to the cause of death in many of these cases.

  • Paul Martinez Jr, was stopped by police an drugs were found in the car. He then became combative, probably from being high already, and the police hit him with the taser. He was later pronounced dead.

Robert Heston Jr was a similar case. He appeared intoxicated and became aggressive. The cops use d the taser on him and he also died. He was determined to have an enlarged heart most likely caused by many years of drug abuse.

  • So basically, the high and belligerent who are getting tased, already have a heightened heart rate, and the taser takes them over the edge. Many people argue that using the taser is a bad idea, because it is impossible to tell what type of stimulant they might be on and therefore can't take the risk. Many other people, such as me, say stop being an A-hole when you are high and trying to fight with police. Then the taser simply won't matter. Nobody will have to worry about being killed.

  • I don't believe the police are always correct in their actions, but the clear evidence of a person dieing from a shot from a taser because they were high is no excuse to lessen everyone else's safety. The taser keeps the cops safe as well as civilians. Its the least possible opportunity for death considering the other choices such as a couple batons to the head, or better yet a bullet.
